Training Schedule in Five Finger Shoes

I going to run at lunch today - I really like that I am able to do that! Just looked at my training schedule in Five Finger Shoes and ooh! I get to do 4 miles today....yay!

Thinking about running a 1/2 marathon in mid-January in Phoenix, AZ - I will be out in the area that week for a work trip - thinking of staying into the weekend and doing the race. Will want to race it in my Vibram five fingers and hope to be ready for that mileage by then. Its not all that far off. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks as my mileage builds again for the training plan I am on (this past week was a recovery week with only 10 miles of running) and I get up to 24 miles this week (runs are starting today: 4, 6, 3, 4, off sat, then 7mi on sun) with 2 runs of 6 or more miles in my Barefoot running shoes.

The most I get to in this plan in 9 miles the week of christmas - and that's a total of 29 miles for the week - there is an 8 mile vibram five fingers running during the week that week too - so I should be ready to handle a 1/2 marahton. Just need to get in one at about 10 miles in length and I will feel comfortable. That's the longest that I do these days before a 1/2 marahton - maybe one at 11 miles (usually a tempo run) if I am peaking for a race and looking for a PR. But i am just looking to complete this one - would be be first 1/2 marahton in Vibram fivefingers running shoes.
